Неговата изработка датира од 1924 година, а семејството Талеви од Охрид, е едно од двете семејства во Македонија кое сеуште го негува овој занает.
Откупувајќи ја емулзијата за премачкување на седефастиот бисер од руски емигрант, пред 81 година, семејството Талеви први во Македонија започнуваат со изработка на охридски бисери.
